Sunset Music Publishing launches an innovative online automated licensing tool for music supervisors to find production music in all formats and with all styles of music.

Sunset Music Publishing announces the launch of its automated licensing tool, an innovative new online marketplace for production, or stock music catalog.

Sunset Music Publishing can now offer its extensive library of high-quality royalty-free production music to be used by music supervisors and by all music designers in their production, as background music, in stores, restaurants, theme parks, on hold and any place that needs any style of music, and for any place that needs music. Sunset Music Publishing can now offer its clients four ways to license its product along with offering four separate options for its potential clients, including the master use licensing of all single tracks, bulk packages by genre and style, by perpetual use along with being given the ability to listen and review every track by music stream. The company has launched an advanced search technology with moods, styles, descriptions, Beats per Minute (BPM), instruments, instrumentals, and with an automated cue sheet programmed for every song. Sunset Music Publishing makes it easy, convenient and affordable for its clients to buy the production music they need, after listening to any song, twenty four hours a day, and without having to deal with any other humans. As for the online marketplace for this type of product and service, Sunset Music Publishing is the first affiliated company to any record label (Sunset), to offer this automated way of licensing music. The company can now offer its catalog of recorded music by its own up and coming musicians at all of the labels distributed at Sunset.

“I am psyched to get this launched today; Sunset Music Publishing can show how it is one of the integral parts of us building one the most innovative and progressive music companies in the world and besides that recognition for the company, this is just another way for us to showcase our catalog that is available for the production music industry today,” says head of Sunset, Don Lichterman. He goes onto say that “doing things the automated way online continues to grow how businesses gets done in general, and in this case, music supervisors, can now review and retrieve our music at any time.” Sunset Music has more than 150 entries on the nomination ballot for the 54th Grammy Awards this year and (Don) Lichterman says that from what he does see growing in this part of the industry is that “more companies are sprouting up with a system like I have set up at Sunset.” Lichterman describes “Universal’s (Universal Music Publishing) amazing system which after I saw the launch of it last month, and I merely expanded on their concept of dealing online, however at Sunset, you can check right out using our own e-commerce.”

Lichterman and Sunset also have one of the only A&R Submittal tools in place, and the company now does it royalty payments and statements online and paperless. “With this automated licensing tool being used as an online platform to license songs by my artists, Sunset Music Publishing enables buyers to search in any way, using any type of mood, style, instrumentation or any keyword, before they find, listen and determine on their own, whether they want to license any of the music that is priced in a cost effective affordable way, but what is best is that this can all be done in an easy way. And it can be done anonymously 24 hours any day of the week,” to then enter into what is our royalty free based standard license terms. Sunsets music is now available at the www.SunsetMusicPublishing.com web site as online music streams for the use of any retail outlet that broadcasts music, theme parks, restaurants that play music, any businesses (on hold, for presentations, etc.), as website background music, or for use in films and TV productions.

Rick Starmer Releases Set Of Jazz Standards On No Such Thing As Time

Rick Starmer releases a brand new 15 song set of traditional jazz standards and originals,“No Such Thing As Time”,on September 27th!

This brand new, 15-song, exquisite jazz collection is comprised of standards such as the Rodgers & Hart-penned title track, Manhattan, which sets the tone for an album filled with Rick’s remarkably soothing piano work and takes the listener on a great ride. With “No Such Thing As Time”, Rick Starmer takes his passion for traditional jazz music to the absolute next level as a jazz music artist. Rick (Starmer) had always wanted to make an acoustic sounding jazz album, and recording the session at the historical Homer Center for The Arts in upstate New York was the perfect venue. “This was the way legendary jazz music artists used to record their albums,” says Rick Starmer about recording this brand new album set to hit stores on September 27th. He goes onto to say that “I have always had the vision to record an album of mine at this great theater and there is nothing like stained glass and high arched, old wood ceilings to feed the creative soul and resonate a nine foot Yamaha Grand piano.”

The 15-song jazz collection is comprised of songs produced by Grammy Winning Producer for Best Jazz Album, Rob ‘Wacko!” Hunter. (Rob ‘Wacko!’) Hunter is an industry veteran with over 97 credited projects as producer, mixer, and engineer.(Rob) Hunter has had the opportunity to work with such popular music artists such Branford Marsalis, Harry Connick, Jr., Gov’t Mule, Testament, John Brown’s Body, Overkill, Mel Gibson, Flotsam & Jetsam and he did the producer and engineer work on the Men in Black Soundtrack CD (Original Soundtrack CD and Bonus CD) and the Mark Twain Soundtrack CD to name just a few projects that have helped him developed his craft in the studio. He took time, while on break from his current worldwide tour with Branford Marsalis and his band, to produce this brand new “No Such As Time” CD (In Stores next week on Sept. 27th).

The production, led by Rob ‘Wacko!’ Hunter, on this full length CD, helps the classically trained jazz pianist spread his musical works by including songs such as the (Rick)Starmer original "Cinnamon," along with the classic essence and tempo that come out on the Duke Ellington/Barney Bigard composed song, C-Jam Blues. Johnny Mercer is presented on the album with "I Remember You," where Starmer illustrates the diverse confidence in his piano style as modern day jazz and traditional jazz blend together. These arrangements remind us of that fine line of providing new production to familiar favorites in jazz, even though it’s been decades since the original composition . The terrific production that compliments Starmer on “No Such Thing As Time” comes from a seasoned producer and musician, the acclaimed Grammy Winner, Rob “Wacko!” Hunter. The album is produced for the New York based Sunset Jazz Recordings imprint by label head Don Lichterman.

Although the physical CD will be available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Borders and everywhere that sells jazz music, jazz fans can also download the album on iTunes, Amazon MP3, Rhapsody, Zune, Napster, Verizon Wireless Media and any place that sells downloads, streams, ringtones and playback tunes.

The process of producing No Such Thing As Time was based on a vision (Rick) Starmer has had to record in this particular theater in upstate New York. "Rick had contacted me about getting the time to work with Rob Hunter," Don Lichterman says about the project. "The company was looking for more jazz artists and for more jazz projects,” says (Don) Lichterman, and “we had done some live stuff with a vocal artist last summer to test these waters, but getting to record these special songs, with a Grammy Winning producer (Rob “Wacko!” Hunter), is the perfect sense of direction for the label and for Rick (Starmer).” Other great tracks on this very well produced CD include the Duke Ellington classic, “Sophisticated Lady,” the Harold Arlen and Ted Koehler classic, “Stormy Weather and the Erroll Garner classic, “Misty.” The SC&J label first became aware of (Rick) Starmer through his first CD, “Because I Can’t Paint,” that was eventually released through Sunset Classics. (Don) Lichterman says that “though (Rick) Starmer's musical style was a bit different when we first met a few years ago, I could see that he had a resonance in his playing that would sound amazing with that old school traditional style of jazz framework.” He ends the questionnaire regarding the “No Such Thing As Time” CD which is being released next week on September 27th by saying that "we tried some things with vocals at some live shows last year, realizing the logical thing for him (Rick Starmer) would be to do what he does best, and that is play piano,” and that “getting the ability to use Rob (Hunter) to produce it was over the top for us.”

For more information, along with his discography, media, show dates, press, and more, go to the Rick Starmer website at Sunset Classics & Jazz (SC&J (www.RickStarmer.Sunset-Classics.com).

Grammy Award Winning Jazz Producer, Rob “Wacko” Hunter, (Branford Marsalis, Harry Connick Jr., Men In Black Soundtrack), is in studio finishing up with the new Rick Starmer full length CD!

Between world tours (Branford Marsalis), Grammy award winning producer and engineer, Rob “Wacko” Hunter, produces the new Rick Starmer (Sunset Jazz Recordings) album in New York State. “All of the songs on the working title, “No Such Things At A Time” was recorded this month on the stage at the historical Homer Center For The Arts in upstate New York (Cortland, New York),” says Don Lichterman, the head of Sunset Jazz (Recordings) and “the goal is to allow Rob (Hunter) to take the music by Rick (Starmer) into the studio for the final mixes, using that hall to get a particular sound he / they want for the new album.” (Don) Lichterman also says that he wants “the two (Rob Hunter and Rick Starmer) to naturally collaborate their own ways to create what will be the final product,” and “I think its brilliant that they took full advantage of the ambient sound in that old church ad what is now a historic performance arts theatre.”

“There is nothing like an old hi arched wood ceiling with stained glass to feed the creative soul and to resonate the amazing sound off the nine foot Yamaha Grand piano,” says Rick Starmer, Sunset recording artist. (Rob) Hunter is seemingly an industry veteran with over 97 credited projects as producer, mixer, engineer along with him wining a Grammy for producing Branfords (Marsalis) “, album.” (Rob) Hunter has had the opportunity to work with such popular music artists such Branford Marsalis, Harry Connick, Jr., Gov’t Mule, Testament, John Brown’s Body, Overkill, Mel Gibson, Flotsam & Jetsam and he did the producer and engineer work on the Men in Black Soundtrack CDs (Original Soundtrack CD and Bonus CD) and the Mark Twain Soundtrack CDs to name just a few projects that have helped him developed his craft in the studio.

The adventure is helped along by him losing his cell phone, his wallet, all of his money, and he broke his pda while managing to somehow receive cash from a Western Union, get his tickets replaced for any shows, rented a car and got on an airplane without any identification. “This is not just a story about what I did for that three weeks span of time,” the author, Don Lichterman says about his newly published book, “this is a very political book.”

The book, Three Weeks In June also discusses the controversy with the War on Drugs, the private jails and private prisons all over America while also discussing how corrupt the bank system is today, and how corporations should be responsible for their actions. “I touch into everything and I give solutions along with my pints, including how to gain jobs with ease today, let alone how gain huge revenues with those jobs, how to gain money in general with ease today, how to stop the ridiculous spending we do as a nation.” “I also go off about how corrupt the criminal justice system is today and has been for decades,” says (Don) Lichterman.

Don Lichterman is the founder, current chairman and head of the Sunset Entertainment Companies. Since starting in the entertainment industry he has garnered more than eleven (11) Gold, Platinum and Multi Platinum Records Awards issued to him by the Recording Association of America (R.I.A.A.), four (4) Gold, Platinum and Multi Platinum A.R.I.A. (Australian Recording Industry Association), and has worked three of the largest and most successful entertainment companies in the world. He was also presented all around achievement award for most successful year ever at major record company.

(Don) Lichterman also shows his colors by making no bones about growing up on Grateful Dead tours confirming that he has seen exactly 381 shows before Jerry Garcia died in 1995. He then says, “I think I somehow managed to have accumulated to see over 250 Phish shows since I first met the two of them at that Widespread Panic show at the Roxy in Hollywood” and “since I was first taken to see that band at their own show in 1994.”

The book’s cover art is designed by renowned designer and former Creative Development head at Jupiter Media Metrix, George Yatrakis. The soft covered book is set to be in stores like Amazon, Borders, Books A Million and everywhere that sells books, along with digital companies for eBooks at Amazon Kindle, SONY Reader, Apple’s ibookstore and the book will be available as an audio book starting in July. The book’s chapters all begin with quotes from popular world leaders and pop culture icons like David Wilcox, Chris Rock, Willy Wonka, Hal Sparks, The Grateful Dead, Seinfeld, Genesis and more fun quotes help make the points about “what we face as a nation today.”

The Rhion-Antirrion Bridge is the latest Michalis Terzis masterpiece full length CD being released at Sunset Classics on August 3rd.

Michalis Terzis is ready to release his latest full length CD masterpiece, The Rhion-Antirrion Bridge, on August 3rd with Sunset Classics.

Michalis Terzis is someone that composes classical music in the most accessible, sublime and sophisticated way, and his latest full length CD, The Rhion-Antirrion Bridge is another (Michalis) Terzis album filled with what can be best described as classical pop music. Many pieces on this brand new CD are bound to be standards and traditional in the classical music world. “Considering it’s a classical music album,” says Don Lichterman, the head of the Sunset Classics & Jazz (SC&J) division at Sunset, “there are accessible mainstream pop elements to his arrangements.” Many songs on this album do have that mainstream accessibility of a Mike Oldfield and Vangelis have done with their classical music. Lichterman goes on to say that “is exactly the sense of direction we headed with the Michalis (Terzis) CD.”

Michalis Terzis is an artiste, composer and performer of classical and international world music. (Michalis) Terzis is very much able to entice classical music lovers with its vast range of melodies. His songs compellingly segue from the "The Bridge" to the atmospheric foreshadowing of "The Sea" and throughout to the “magic carpet ride” in "Antirrion". Every song on the Rhion-Antirrion Bridge album is filled with lush, soaring and romantic pieces, which are some of the most accessible and pop mainstream classical styled music to hit stores in a long time. The eleven (11) song CD is set to hit stores worldwide on August 3rd at SC&J.

For classical aficionados or if you are someone who thinks of Michalis Terzis in terms of ambient and new age music, listeners, are guaranteed to be satisfied with the entire The Rhion-Antirrion Bridge CD. The Ionian Sea is another melodic and dramatic song that makes the full length CD feels almost like a concept album that tells a story. "Time And Light, “Hesperia” show that melodic and accessible characteristic of Michalis Terzis, and suggests the cross over potential to mainstream consumers as a classical musical artist. While the label emphasizes his melodies, virtuosity and stylistic wide range on the new album, "Rion" nonetheless draws that same excellent line with its melody and Nocturno Sonata” also demonstrates a considerable amount of classical techniques with these perfectly composed orchestrations. By "Symmetria” and “Horizon-Eptanniss," along with the song, "Diapolis" round off the beautifully produced album.

The Rhion Antirrion Bridge classical music CD will no doubt prove to be a personal favorite with not only classical music fans, (Michalis) Terzis has also truly covered a lot of accessible territory with these songs.  Though, there are no repetitive themes with the album, the overall vision remains to be very coherent for the average listener of popular music. And, this Sunset Classics recorded CD, is no doubt in that upper stratum in the extensive Michalis Terzis' discography of recorded music.

Michalis Terzis's first album on Sunset Classics will feature a brand new recording by the acclaimed composer from his hometown country of Greece. The upcoming CD set to hit stores worldwide on August 3rd and will be available in stores where CD’s are sold at retail, and the CD will also be made available to classical music fans as downloads, ringtones and streams in every format wherever they are sold.

Classical Pianist Rick Starmer mixes up a blend of music on his new CD, Because I Can’t Paint which is due out on Sunset Classics this June 1.

Rick Starmer’s classical gem hits stores on June 1 with his new record label, Sunset Classics at Sunset Classics & Jazz (SCJ).

A CD once a title with a little color never hurts, but (Rick) Starmer has put down a full length modern day classical set of music on one CD, Because U Can’t Paint. And, the Sunset Classics & Jazz (SC&J) division will release the CD to stores around the world on June 1st. Don Lichterman, the head of SC&J says, “these recordings by Rick (Starmer), are some of the more important piano compositions we have released to date at Sunset Classics, and this CD has already proven to add to the incredible groundwork we have spent building the repertoire in the classical division at Sunset.” Aficionados of classical music can hear influences to Grieg, Saint-Saëns, Massenet, Debussy, Pugno and Diémer and Lichterman goes on to say, “my goal at Sunset Classics is to make every title we release an essential part of the collection for everyone that listens to classical music.”

This modern day classical performance that ends up on the “Because I Can’t Paint” CD, offers more than just a surfeit amount of accessibility, excitement, intrigue and absolute entertainment. Songs by (Rick) Starmer have been described on SKY.FM to be a “technical piece of the greatest clarity and brilliance,” and you can hear Starmer on current rotation at top classical and new age radio stations in Syracuse (WAER - 88.3 FM), Binghamton (WSKG - 89.3 FM & 91.5 FM), Ithaca (90.9 FM), Oneonta/Cooperstown (91.7FM), Elmira (91.1 FM), Corning (90.7 FM), Clear Channel / I Heart Radio, Virgin Hit Lab Radio, Jango, Last FM, Pandora and many more stations around the world. The diverse pianist will also play live in June at the Community Restaurant Theatre in Cortland, New York.

The energy, vigor and enthusiasm of his (Rick Starmer) playing are mesmerizing and dazzling for a classical styled of music artist. Thus, songs like “Ave C. & 9th” and “Where Are You?” are the two songs that start off the long journey of music on the Because I Can’t Paint CD, while “Kayla” and “Kayla Walk” are vivid recordings that help make up a coloristic palette of music on this CD. The polished end result on songs like his “Dad/Son” are a natural and accessible appealing story made up in a musical composition. And, the sense of obvious energies on songs like, “East River Sunrise” and “Winter Soul” make up the full length tangible CD for classical music fans. “He’s an absolute brilliant pianist,” says (Don) Lichterman, and that “every song on this CD is alluring to classical music fans.” (Rick) Starmer plays with a certain emotional response and is essentially considered to be a pure modern day classical music performer.

(Rick) Starmer’s 2010 recordings is an array of musical composition produced, written and performed by the classical and new age artist. His subtle and tactful clarity is how his playing can be strongly characterized and the Lichterman makes no bones about using Starmer’s music from this new CD for film and commercial productions.” The label has also begun to set the CD at all retail outlets around the world, and the CD will be set up digitally at the top outlets that sell downloads, streams and ringtones beginning June 1 this year. The Founder of Sunset Records Opens One of the World’s Most Extensive Animal Friendly and Vegan Related Web Sites

Veg Hed opens its online store providing products never used with animals and strategic partners with activists that are against all forms of animal cruelty.

A New Jersey based organization with shared office space at Sunset in New York City, Veg Hed is now the best resource for “vegan” product and related care products from top brands, and is also set up as a very precise way to find out about pivotal animal activist companies. The company also extended its range of releasing music and video by releasing organic and eco friendly related DVD titles.

Known for its quality of music and innovative record label structure, Sunset is finding ways to use its resources for various forms of activism and awareness. Don Lichterman, the head of Sunset is also the founder of the Sustainable Action Network and the Green Junkee online retail store. Lichterman says, “Veg Hed is an extension within our office and we are doing a series of special markets CDs with a concept of using only music artists that eat veggie every day and artists that are against animal cruelty. This is my way to fulfill my larger dream of being able to do more for humans and animals in this world. Having the ability to promote and distribute products with top retail outlets like Amazon and Target gives us an instant reach at 12% of the online retail marketplace.”

Veg Hed not only will release its own product line, the site brings together other vegan product lines and links to vegan fashion stores. Veg Hed also has up to date information with a few of the top animal activist companies in the world. Without many great resources for shopping for vegan items online, and to gain information about vegetarian living and organizations that do incredible things for wildlife, Veg Hed brings this together on one web site.

Lichterman says, “Unless you are looking for a specific item that you use all the time, using products not tested on animals and using products, let alone products that have no animal product could be difficult to find online and in stores. I am trying to find ways to make this so easy for people to buy these types of products all together in one order. I am also trying to use top brands that manufacturer product without any animals. And, I want to make sure people know they have easy choices to buy every type of product that does not use animals. This is more about awareness and reaching out to a more mainstream consumer while explaining this to them in a very easy way.”

Consumers are able to buy Sunset DVDs and Sunset CDs that are related to wildlife as well as strategically partnered companies with products that manufacturer vegan styles clothing, cosmetics, and clothing along with products from the PETA (People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals) Mall, the ASCAP store, the Sea Sheperd online store and items from the North Shore Animal League. The store is also affiliated with the Dr. Foster and Smith Company to resell their product line.

January 16, 2009 - Don Ward Joins Sunset Jazz Recordings – the label is Dreaming about this next CD release!

New York based independent jazz record label, Sunset Jazz recordings, announces the signing of their first artist at the label, Philadelphia-based jazz artist, Don Ward. The record deal sets up the release of his brand new debut full length CD, Dreaming, with a street date of February 17, 2009.

“We are obviously a very lucky label to have someone at the level of Don “Juan” (Ward) as the first artist signed and first CD release,” says Don Lichterman, founder and president of Sunset Jazz. “This inaugural album for the label beyond doubt validates the work of Don Ward with a full album of stylish and expressive arrangements on every song.” The new Lichterman jazz record label has once again teamed up with Rod Millwood, a Sunset Staff Music Producer (Gina Thompson, L. Myers, Kevin Hart) and Laff House Comedy Club owner, to work with Ward in the studio.

Saxophonist Don “Juan” Ward is one of the leading sax players in the world. His playing has been described as a picture perfect blend of sound, and is one of the premier signings in the jazz music world. The tandem is currently putting the finial mixes down on the final 6 songs for the label. Sunset jazz aim is to build this into a legendary jazz label with analogous love for classic music styles of John Coltrane, Miles Davis, and Charles Mingus, among other legends in jazz.  “He is a major addition to the Sunset Jazz artist roster,” added Lichterman, “which should attract more great players to the label.”

The new Ward CD, Dreaming highlights the labels devotion to that classic style of jazz music showing of its melodies, textures, and great grooves. The sax artist and the jazz label are poising themselves to create many journeys into this deep style of inspirational musical discovery. (Rod) Millwood has even included the use of light vocals as an instrument presenting the direct way to show tribute to the legendary jazz artist, Grover Washington, Jr.

Sunset Jazz, founded in 2008, is the Sunset Records jazz label that opened its doors last year by distributing its licensed product. All Sunset Jazz artists are distributed all over the world through the Sunset records label system and via CBuJ Entertainment.

January 14, 2009 - Sunset Continues To Develop Music Through Its Digital Record Label

Sunset has just launched a digital record label this month, finding, signing and developing music artists with the overall objective of breaking them through its distribution system, licensing network, radio promotion, press and media departments along with its live download company and radio network.

Sunset Connect is the now the backbone for the Sunset Records digital division and moreover, this is one of their best ways for the label to find new music. The label will function as a newly created division at the Sunset record label based in New York City. The label started this month by releasing full length albums by D’Cyple, Obka, Ric Laue, Kan’Nal, Starr Cullars, Cryout, a Cracker / David Lowery type of songwriter from England named Clayton Road; and many compilations that feature popular music artists (The Crystal Method, Fatboy Slim, Sneaker Pimps, Gavin Friday, Eve Gallagher, Boy George, Leftfield, Death In Vegas and more), and will now begin to sign more music every month during this first year.

Don Lichterman, the head of Sunset Records, will run the digital only label during the key launch stages in the first few months, finding new talent and implementing the A&R and lead time administration. The Sunset Connect digital label is set up to develop bands working everything to major radio, press, retail and for licensing opportunities in film, TV and commercials in an automated way. Lichterman’s Sunset Live download company will be run through the Sunset Connect distribution system although it will be a standalone company run by its own staff. The live concert download company has just released a very special live concert by the world famous comedian, Roz (Last Comic Standing, Laff House Live).

Lichterman said about the digital label that it is a convergence of many factors with regard to the landscape of distribution and working music today-- including promotional mailings and mailings for music-licensing opportunities, and today, every aspect of a record label can be distributed to radio, retail, press and licensing companies all digitally -- made it the perfect climate to start Sunset Connect. The label will provide the ability to purchase physical CDs for placement at Amazon, Target and its own CD / DVD Store, through its On-Demand system powered by Amazon’s Create Space.

"We have every aspect of what a record label does for its music artists at Sunset Connect, and working music this way is cost effective for artists that it will no doubt be the standard model for record labels," Lichterman said in a press release with Billboard Media Wire. "We are poising Sunset for that time by starting the label today and at the same time, this label pays its artist 70/30 splits on net sales, which will keep everyone recouped making money every pay period.” Sunset Connect will look to hire a label head and other staff members for A&R acquisitions with the label feeding off the Sunset Records divisions for its promotion, licensing, marketing and administration.

While Sunset Records has made great progress in the last year with its new music – the Federal Moguls (QBall from Bloodhound Gang and Troy Walsh (MTV.com) new project and platinum recording artist Gina Thompson’s new project as run through the main label (Sunset Records and Sunset Urban accordingly) -- the Sunset Connect record label will be committed to developing new talent and up-and-coming music artists. Each of the artists on the label has already released indie albums and Sunset Connect distributes the entire catalogs of these artists. "We have great lee way now to develop new music without getting them thousands of dollars in the unrecouped column, and we can take on so many more projects today," Lichterman said.

Sunset Connects business plan has taken the same shape as the rest of the Sunset labels. There is a perfect mix of brand new talent in with established artist signings that are legends in the industry. Of the new bands,  Kan’Nal’s “Gypsy” was the number one song played on the Radio Italia Network last year for a few weeks and D’Cyple’s two songs “My Life” and “Don’t Wanna Be” have broken the top 50 on the Indy Record Pool charts last year and is still being featured in clubs charting every month. Clayton Road also now has two songs in Pure Play’s Music Network and every artist is featured at Pandora. Sunset Connect has digital deals with every top online retailer including iTunes, Real/Rhapsody, eMusic, Amazon MP3, Napster, Shockhound and over 40 outlets. The digital only label does make physical product via Amazon’s On-Demand system making CDs available at Amazon, target and the Sunset Store, however, it will not carry any stock inventory.

Top industry people at major labels and at Indy labels admit there is no set formula for a digital only record label. Lichterman says that he has “found the perfect way to make everyone money and work this music at Sunset Connect as close to what you would do for an artist that has a traditional record deal.” He also was quick to say that the idea of doing this now is almost “overdue, but for us at Sunset, this the perfect time for this type of label considering our label wide rosters at this time. Our traditional label is working like a machine and our artists and staff producer (Rod Millwood) were named on the Grammy Nomination Ballot 68 times leading up to December 5th. We now have the formula to make sure this label works like a cost effective machine and ironically speaking, I could see this label being the one that is the main label as the industry phases out physical DVDs and CDs."

Sunset Live Will Presents The Laff House Comedy Tour in 2009 along with a brand new live Comedy CD by one of the worlds top comedians, Kevin Hart!

Kevin Hart (Soul Plane, Scary Movie, Epic Movie, 40 Year Old Virgin) will release a brand new Full Length comedy album in Spring 2009. The Laff House and Sunset Live are planning a nation wide tour with comedians from BET's Comic Review, Def Jam Comedy Show ion HBO and with Kevin on the bill. Hart is playing three nights at the world famous Punchline Comedy Club in San Francisco from 2/5 to 27/. Kevin's last comedy CD, I'm A Grown Little Man is a top selling CD at Sunset!

all Sunset artists chart on the aol powered our stage last month!
